Santo Amaro Viewpoint

The forecourt of Santo Amaro Chapel forms a viewpoint over Alcântara and the Tagus at the top of the street of the same name. Its elevated position looks towards the waterfront and the 25 de Abril Bridge, a defining feature of this part of Lisbon. The small Renaissance chapel, dated 1549, adds a heritage setting, with its distinctive plan and tile decoration. The viewpoint is the outdoor space beside the chapel and can be approached as a place to pause and observe the landscape, separately from a visit inside the church. Pedestrian access follows the streets of the Santo Amaro neighbourhood.
