Rocha Conde de Óbidos Viewpoint

The Rocha Conde de Óbidos viewpoint occupies Jardim 9 de Abril, also known as Jardim das Albertas, beside the National Museum of Ancient Art. This small tree-lined terrace follows the hillside above Avenida 24 de Julho and opens towards the Tagus and the Rocha Conde de Óbidos quay. The nearby Óbidos-Sabugal Palace, headquarters of the Portuguese Red Cross, and a sculpture honouring its founder José António Marques connect the garden with the area’s history. Two stairways lead down towards the waterfront. It is an outdoor stop independent of the museum visit, offering a view of port activity and the relationship between the city and the river.
