Escarpa Viewpoint lies on Monsanto’s slope facing Lisbon, beside Estrada do Alvito. Rocky ground and vegetation frame an opening towards the city, relating the built landscape to the forest park. It is an outdoor walking stop near paths and picnic areas, suitable for inclusion in a longer route. The hillside itself is part of the experience, with contrasts between clearings, exposed rock and woodland. Its location is separate from the Panorâmico de Monsanto building and from the viewing points at Penedo and Alameda Keil do Amaral.
