Amélia de Mello Foundation Gallery – Catholic University of Portugal
The Amélia de Mello Foundation Gallery is the exhibition space at the headquarters of the Catholic University of Portugal, on the Palma de Cima campus in Lisbon. It presents temporary exhibitions, free of charge and open to both the academic community and the general public. Since 2021 a cooperation agreement with the Serralves Foundation has brought works from the Porto museum's collection to the university, in shows such as "Mãos sobre a cidade" (2024), curated by Joana Valsassina and devoted to the contemporary urban condition, and "Helena Almeida: Habitar a Obra", which opened in October 2025. The gallery has also hosted "Enciclopédia Negra", in partnership with the Pinacoteca de São Paulo, on little-known Black figures; the first public showing of "Registo das Horas Perdidas" by Manuel dos Anjos Mendes; and exhibitions curated by students of the Curatorial Practices seminar of the Lisbon Consortium, in the Faculty of Human Sciences, with works from CAM – Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian, such as "What We Can('t) Hold", on show from 30 April to 22 June 2026. The gallery opens only during exhibitions, usually on weekday afternoons; as of October 2026 no new show had been announced.
